Construction of my Taig micro II lathe begins. In this series of videos, I will cover how I setup my Taig lathe and adapt a 90 volt DC motor and Minarik XL3050A motor controller to it. I'll also be setting up an Auber digital tachometer to keep tabs on the lathe's speed (ie RPM's). This video shows the starting point, with a temporary oak base that will hold the lathe and DC motor in place until I finish design and fabrication of a more sophisticated CNC aluminum base.
